Miren Larrea

Miren Larrea Murgoitio (Zornotza) is a performing artist, social educator and storyteller.
She specialises in puppetry and object theatre, is founder and member of the theatre company Anita Maravillas, and has worked in several other companies including Gorakada and Herta Frankel.
Her passion for creation and puppetry took her to Barcelona where she trained in the Pepe Otal Puppet Workshop and set up Anita Maravillas. From its current base in Zornotza the company works on shows for different stages across the Basque Country, with productions including Pintto Pintto and Sardiña Bakalau. 
Miren has vast experience in the world of storytelling and narration. Her drive to tell stories led her to create the project Zaku bete ipuin as a means for experimenting with the staging of oral narration. Her stage productions are strongly influenced by theatre and the visual arts. In addition to these projects, Miren has continued to develop her work in various publishing houses.
