Miren Manias

Doctor in audiovisual communication and professor at the UPV-EHU. She did her thesis on the economic viability of cinema in Basque. In 2016 she was a visiting postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Research in Cultural Policy at the University of Glasgow. She then spent two years at the University of Edinburgh, studying European minority language televisions and the case of Scottish Gaelic. She focuses on the audiovisual structure, cultural policies and systems for the protection of minority languages. Since 2019 she is a member of the board of directors of the International Association for Media Research in Minority Languages (IAMLMR).
