Mohamed Boujalal

 

The founding members of «Boujalal», Mohammed and Khalid, sons of the ocean as they are Moroccans from the coastal region of Doukkala although the reside in Bayonne, on the French side of the Basque Country, have grown up lulled to sleep, as is natural, by traditional Moroccan music, but they have opened up to all music cultures...

The band reinterprets the standards of «Nass El Ghiwan», a legendary Moroccan band from the 70s, and the Morrocan and Arab repertoire; it also likes to «take a stroll» through French music... and to likewise intensely explore the field of traditional Basque music.
