Giulia Loli is a musician, producer, artist. From playing cello & drums in punk/experimental/free jazz bands as a teenager in Pittsburgh, to cutting her teeth in New York City & Cairo in hip hop & jungle dj crews, to sharing studios & stages with artists from Marc Ribot, Ikue Mori, Butch Morris to musicians of the Nile, Julia Kent, Morgan Craft… to pioneering the previously unheard style of Baladi Breakbeat in 1995, that year founding Sa’aidi Hardcore Productions in Brooklyn and publishing/label KMT BBB USA, to moving on to develop an intense, expansive, instrumental sui generis.

She has been head engineer/producer at G.G.S.S/Rocca AlMileda Studio, both fixed and mobile in Brooklyn, Cairo, Tuscany & Amsterdam, for 20 years.

After a long stint of intensive recording/research in the laboratory-cave Rocca AlMileda in the most remote forests of Italy, she recently reentered the world’s atmosphere landing in Amsterdam.

“Plosive Polyrhythmic Instinct Deep Cut with Ancient Future Inscriptions fashioned by Hand, Unfashionably. Purposeful Anachronism for New dance. New spirituals”. “More Lonely Wolf than neoliberal Art-Jetsetter, inspired by Afrocentric ideas.”
