Castro is a founding member of the Bilbao-based Mina Espazio collective, where she has premièred various theatre projects as an author and director. Castro later moved to Madrid and established herself as a director’s assistant. Completing a Master’s Degree in Documentary Creation from Pompeu Fabra University in 2012 marked a turning point in her career, which would bring her to create the short films ‘Avalancha’ and ‘Zarpazo’. In 2022, Castro premièred her first work as a screenwriter on a full-length feature at the Malaga Film Festival. The film is entitled ‘Beyond the Summit’ and was directed by Ibón Cormenzana for Arcadia Motion Pictures. ‘Mentiras pasajeras’ is her effort creating a series, which is produced by El Deseo and ViacomCBS for SkyShowtime.
