Sirah is a researcher of conscious movement, or consciousness through movement. Born in Donostia, she has a degree in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Clinical Social Work. She studied dance from an early age and trained in the Feldenkrais Method in Rio de Janeiro. Initially, movement and mental health were a separate part of her life, working part-time as a psychologist in a psychiatric centre in Barcelona and dedicating herself to dance the rest of the time. In the Feldenkrais Method, she found a way to unite her vocational interests: movement and consciousness. During the years that she lived in Brazil, in addition to dedicating herself to dance more exclusively, she trained as a Feldenkrais Method instructor. Since then, she has created her own way of approaching dance, movement and consciousness. This is how she created Danza Presencia, a hybrid technique combining the Feldenkrais Method and contemporary dance. She currently works most of the year in Donostia as a somatic therapist, teacher of the Feldenkrais Method, teacher of Danza Presencia and independent dancer. She directs the space OyáLur (Art of Conscious Movement) located in Donostia, where she has her practice for individual and group sessions. She is always training and investigating new parameters for self-awareness through the exploration of movement.

“My work is simply to offer a space, a safe and pleasant laboratory where people can expand their potential through conscious movement”
