The Sibina project is imagined as an experimental performance practice. As open work, it initiates sound research on what vocal practices we are able to produce through a direct relationship between the body of water and our body.
Sibina puts forward a laboratory that is open to the public, where the spaces that voice may occupy and traverse can be tested, both in and out of the water. Starting with a stage set design based on the installation of elements that hold water, Sibina will dive into ritual practice, making
the research and experience serve to change from a more earthly phase to another more aquatic one, ultimately reaching an aerial and spiritual state. Through the transformation of the movements of the voice’s body within the different bodies of water, the project seeks to edit a series of spiritual songs through the sound documentation that is produced from the research process during the ritual performance practices.
