Lucía Arias Fernández, Head of the learning and young people programme, FACT, Liverpool, United Kingdom

BA in History of Art from the University of Oviedo. Since February 2016 she is the head of the education and young people department at FACT. Between 2002 and 2004 she worked as a lecturer at the Dual Language program in the USA. She has worked with the Museums with No Frontières organisation, which promotes international cooperation for the conservation of cultural heritage and education.

She worked at LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón since it opened in 2007, coordinating and producing informative and educational activities. She was responsible for the education programme between 2012 and 2016. During this stage, the education program developed long-term programmes in collaboration with the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Principality of Asturias, in addition to European initiatives. Through the LABoral production centre, the art centre is proposed as an educational resource that not only brings artistic proposals to the general public, but also as an educational tool, a space for experimentation and discovery.

Since February 2016, she is the Head of the learning and young people programme, FACT, Liverpool, United Kingdom FACT is an art centre focused on the creative use of technology, strongly linked to the city's community. The education Department functions as a laboratory for artists, the education community and young people to build their own knowledge based on working with artists, the development of methodological approaches with teachers and designers and the technological tools at their disposal.
