Antonio Scarponi explores, transforms, and builds spatial relationships. He is the founder of the studio Conceptual Devices, based in Zurich. His work finds interdisciplinary synthesis in contemporary artistic forms and practices.

He studied architecture at the Cooper Union in New York and at the IUAV in Venice, where he earned a PhD in Urban Studies. He has taught at KTH in Stockholm and NABA in Milan. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Zurich University of the Arts, where he teaches Exhibition Scenography in the Master’s program in “Cultural Critique and Curatorial Studies” and serves as co-director of the post-graduate program “Transforming Space.” Since 2024, he has been co-founder of the Institute for Spatial Thinking, based in Zurich.

He has collaborated with various online and print magazines such as Domus, Wired, Abitare, Architectural Design, and Designboom. His work has been exhibited in several museums and international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Vienna Biennale for Change.

In recent years, he has engaged with synesthetic installations and performances that explore the spatiality of taste and smell.
