Golden Eighties, Chantal Akerman, Belgium, 1986, 93´
A remastered version of one of Chantal Akerman´s most festive films, a celebration of the colour of the eighties, of the carefree way of living life as if it were a musical. Burlesque, tender and frenetic, it will make you want to dance to the rhythm of the "Golden Eighties" as well.
Employees and customers of a shopping centre live only for love: they dream of it, proclaim it, sing it and dance to it. Encounters and reunions, passions and disappointments. Combining all the different forms of seduction and the feeling of love, the stories intersect and mix together as they are told in song by a mischievous chorus of girls and a group of idle boys.
Session presented by Karmele Jaio (in Basque).
