Catherine D'Ignazio

Catherine D’Ignazio is Assistant Professor of Civic Media & Data Visualization at Emerson College, she has also been a Research Affiliate at Mit Medialab and the MIT Center for Civic. Her interests focus on ways to democratize data and technology with a double objective: empowering communities and achieving social justice. Her activity is based on public art, project design, code development and academic research, as well as teaching to journalists and art students. She also runs storytelling and feminist hackathon workshops.
