Itxaso Corral Arrieta (Bilbao, 1979). A living organism which began organising itself following an enthusiastic encounter between an immunologist and a bacteriologist. During her childhood and adolescence, she took hundreds of walks across the Basque mountains learning fundamental aspects of physiology, mycology, biology, geography, meteorology, grammar, semantics, gastronomy and politics.
She is fascinated by everything to do with clues for understanding communication processes between living things and their expressive and affective capabilities. She believes profoundly in actions arising from the desire to love one's own nervous and immune systems and those of the people around us. In essence, she is breathing, resonating and moving, meaning she is a performing artist, a free dancer, a vital singer, a musical sculptor, a curator and a writer.
She studied Journalism and Dramatic Art in the Basque Country. She gained her diploma at the École Internacional de Théatre Jacques Lecoq in Paris and completed postgraduate studies in Poetry of the Body and Sensory Language at the University of Girona and Teatro de los Sentidos, as well as a Master's in Performing Practice and Visual Culture at the University of Castilla-La Mancha and Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid. She has just completed the Independent Studies Programme at Macba, Barcelona. She enjoys relating and thinking with other living beings, finding infra-things, interferences, rearguards and peculiarities. For several years she has been disseminating poderiovital.com.
