Diego Vivanco

Diego Vivanco was born in Bilbao in 1988. He graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Bilbao, specialising in audiovisual arts. He completed two postgraduate courses in Germany: one on “Media Art” in Leipzig, and the other on “Time-Based Art” in Halle. He has been awarded several prizes and grants throughout his artistic career and conducted international residencies in the Guggenheim Museum New York and Salzamt in Linz (Austria). In 2013, he co-founded the "Situation room” artistic collective, with which he continues to produce site-specific installations. Since 2008, he has exhibited his work on a regular basis in more than 10 countries, including in renowned institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Eigen Art contemporary art gallery in Leipzig. Diego Vivanco approaches his work as a continuous invitation to question established ideas.
