Pere Ginard

 

Pere Ginard is an illustrator, filmmaker and alchemist. He was co-founder and member of the multidisciplinary studio Laboratorium for more than ten years. His work is based on the exploration of perpetual movement and the melancholy creation of mourning, triumphs, monsters, prodigies and mystic raptures, as well as sometimes unfinished observations on things that turn towards the sun and balding blond people with wavy hair.

He has exhibited his films and drawings in numerous art galleries and national and international festivals, published several books and won prizes involving photography, illustration and audiovisual work.

Intensive teaching activity in recent years has led him to giving workshops on cinema and animation in cultural centres and galleries such as La Casa Encendida (Madrid), Arteleku (Donostia), CCCB and MACBA (Barcelona), the National Film Institute of Nigeria, and the Centro Cultural de España in Mexico (Mexico City).
