Melanie Gilligan works in a way that reconceives television drama and its links to various non-fictional forms in order to discuss contemporary political conditions. She studied fine art at Central Saint Martins, London, and was a fellow at the Whitney Independent Study Program, New York. She is a PhD candidate at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
