Why Not Radio

 

WNR is a radio station created by people with mental illness and psychological impairment. It provides other perspectives on life.

It responds to the need for a space for interaction in society without the weight of the stigma of ‘I am mentally ill and I cannot talk, ask questions or have an opinion’. We use words to share stories, break taboos and bring down walls.

The radionauts create, communicate and express their thoughts and feelings. Why Not Radio gives them a platform for sharing their experiences, thus building bridges that connect those diagnosed with some form of mental illness with the rest of society. Radio plays a social role; together, we can use it to battle the stigma they carry owing to their diagnosis.
