Diego Matxinbarrena (San Sebastian, 1961) is an artist whose training comes mainly from Arteleku workshops, where he ended up staying as a resident artist. Among his noteworthy accomplishments are second prize in the Gure Artea painting contest (1987), and individual exhibitions such as the ones at the Drum gallery (2003) or Koldo Mitxelena's Ganbara (2016). His personal poetics have been of great interest to architects, making it no surprise that he has exhibited both in the College of Architects (2005) and the School of Architecture (2013). Diego Matxinbarrena builds forms in space, and everything he draws belongs to the city, as he has always gone along finding his inspiration in their promenades and the forms of urban furniture.
