Gentz del Valle

Gentz del Valle (Lekeitio, 1957) holds a PhD in Fine Arts and is a tenured lecturer at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

She has published the essay En ausencia del dibujo (El dibujo y su enseñanza tras la crisis de la academia, 2001) [In the absence of drawing (Drawing and its teaching after the crisis of academia)]. In her installations she lays out the relationship between the images we have internalised in our culture, set against the opposition to the past that is at their roots, questioning our cultural gaze.
