In conversation with Chema García Ibarra (director of Espíritu sagrado) and Leonor Díaz (Art director of Espíritu sagrado)

Chema García Ibarra has directed and written El ataque de los robots de Nebulosa-5 (2009), Protopartículas (2010), Misterio (2013), Uranes (2014), La disco resplandece (2016), Leyenda dorada (2019, in co-direction with Ion de Sosa) and Espíritu Sagrado (2021), all of them domestic science fiction films made without professional actors. His works have been selected at festivals such as Cannes Directors' Fortnight, Locarno, Sundance, Berlinale, San Sebastian or Mar del Plata. Among his more than two hundred awards are two honorable mentions at Sundance, a Jury Mention at San Sebastian and the Vanguard and Genre competition award at BAFICI. Since 2015 he teaches the subject "Anti-filmmaking" in the ECAM's documentary film diploma course.

Leonor Díaz Esteve, born in Elche (Alicante), is an art director and costume designer. She has worked on the artistic conception of all of Chema García Ibarra's films, covering art direction, costumes, casting and location choices, and the general artistic concept. She is also responsible for the artistic direction of films by directors such as David Pantaleón (Rendir los machos) or the Marc Sempere/Leire Apellániz duo (Canto cósmico). She has won, among others, the prizes for best artistic direction at ALCINE (Alcalá de Henares Film Festival), for best costume at the Medina del Campo Film Week and for best art direction for Espíritu sagrado at the Mar del Plata Film Festival.
