The starting point is the collaboration of Ortín and Gorostidi (local artists) with Khaldi and Khalili (artists based in Ramallah). This collaborative work is structured around the representation of the territory, the border and the relationship between identity and landscape. It started with an attempt to trace commonalities between the residents' practices, leading to a discussion around the failure of the nation-state. This discussion led to approaching “invasive species” as a case study, with all its connotations: ecological, taxonomic, botanical, geographic and specially linguistic; looking at discourses around ecology and the language used to describe scientific phenomena, as at many times it is too akin to the language of right wing politics.
