SCRIPT WRITING WORKSHOP
Europa Creativa Desk MEDIA Euskadi and Tabakalera organize a scriptwriting workshop
The Europa Creativa Desk MEDIA Euskadi and Tabakalera are organizing this workshop focused on writing scripts for feature film and documentary projects for the month of March in Tabakalera, under the direction of Miguel Machalski.
The scriptwriting workshop will be held from March 22 to 24 in Tabakalera by the prestigious script analyst Miguel Machalski, who has a history as an analyst of films for major studios and works by prominent directors such as Million-dollar Baby by Clint Eastwood, Stephen Daldry's Billy Elliot, Ingmar Bergman's Sarabanda and Alejando Amenábar's Mar Adentro, and adviser to numerous films from around the world that have won awards at festivals (for a detailed list, see https://www.imdb.com/name/ nm1656311/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0). In addition, he gives workshops and consultancies in various parts of the world, and has worked with the CDA in Barcelona, the Binger Institute in Amsterdam, EAVE and various MEDIA program workshops (Sources2, LIM...). He currently collaborates as an advisor with the EICTV in Cuba, with the Center National Audiovisuel in Luxembourg (CNA) and with the Torino Feature Lab.
Goals:
- Guide the process of developing and writing the script to develop a good film project.
- Prepare the projects for the MEDIA Co-development call.
Methodology:
- Personalized advice (feed-back, ideas, suggestions, practical advice...).
Target audiences:
- Scriptwriters or teams of scriptwriters based in the Basque Country, and who have a feature film project in development –maximum three participants per project–.
Working language:
- Spanish
Documentation to present – only electronic files in PDF or Word will be received:
- One page synopsis.
- Treatment of approx. 10-15 pages, if available, 2 or 3 dialogue scenes and/or rundown.
- CV of the participants.
- CV of the producer and trajectory of the production company.
- Information about any agreements from a broadcaster, film aids or others.
The 6 selected projects will have personalized advice (feed-back, ideas, suggestions, practical advice, analysis...) lasting two hours on one of the days assigned by the organization of this workshop (March 22, 23 or 24, the schedule will be announced to each participant once the selection is made).
