Paris, Raymond Depardon, Francia, 1998, 97' OV FR, Sub. ES

A filmmaker prepares his next film, looks for the leading actress who will play the lead role. He hires a casting director and goes out to the streets of Paris in search of his heroine. The director doubts about his project, about himself, about the people he meets. The film is shot in black and white, Depardon films the wet cobblestones of the streets of Paris, reflections and mirror games inside the stations and restaurants. The contrast accentuates the feelings of uncertainty of the characters that are sought. Young comedians or passengers of the Saint-Lazare station, these portraits of women are the testimony of the attachment that Depardon feels towards what he films. The filmmaker concludes with this phrase: "I like loneliness but I don't like being alone."
