Maider Oleaga (Bilbao, 1976). She holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication and a diploma in Film Direction from the Madrid Film School (ECAM). In 2014, she completed a Master's Degree in Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of the Basque Country.

She has directed the documentaries Amaren Ideia (2009), Esperanza (2012), Verabredung (2017), winner of the Doc España section at the SEMINCI and Muga deitzen da Pausoa (2018) premiered at the Gijón Festival in 2018. With this project she took part in the first edition of the Ikusmira Berriak artistic residency. Her latest feature documentary, Kuarkt Valley (2021), premiered at the San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it won the Best Basque Screenplay Award from the Basque Screenwriters' Association and also won a special mention at the Irizar Award. She has written and directed the fiction short films Neoi argiak ederrenean, part of the collective film Gure Oroitzapenak (2018) and Sitios prestados al aire (2011), winner of the IMCINE Short Film Project Competition (Mexico) and Kinka (2021), premiered at ZINEBI and winner of the Best Basque Screenplay Award. She has participated in various educational projects such as Cinema en Curs and Zineleku and collaborates as a tutor at the Elias Querejeta Film School.
