Con el viento, Meritxell Colell, Spain, 2018, 100' DCP OV
Mónica, a 47-year-old dancer who has lived for 20 years abroad, receives a call from Spain: her father is very ill. This is when she decides to return home, a small and remote village in Burgos. Thus her return to the past starts, her reconciliation with her family universe, the story about family ties and relationships in a feminine universe: mother, daughter, absent father. This is when winter, silence and extreme cold arrive. Everything is like a test for Ana, confronted with herself and with this new‒old territory. But there is still a place that continues to be her true refuge: dance.
The main character of Con el Viento is Mónica García, a choreographer and contemporary dance performer, along with Concha Canal, making her debut as an actress at the age of 88. Completing the cast are Goya award winner Ana Fernández (Solas, Historia de un beso, You’re the one) and Elena Martín (Júlia Ist, Les amigues de l’Àgata).
Session will be presented by Meritxel Collel, director of Con el viento, and Carlos R. Ríos, director of D'A Film Festival.
