Thierry Martínez and Carmen Larraz present the result of the ‘Dantzaz’ creation residencies in a new edition of ATALAK 2.0., the Euro-region Aquitaine – Basque Country – Navarre space for searching, testing and researching contemporary dance.
Carmen Larraz. Electrical Body
The Navarre creator Carmen Larraz presents ‘Electrical Body’. “Starting from the simple image of how one magnet acts opposite another, magnetism can be extrapolated to innumerable personal and human relations imaginaria. My aim is to launch the proposal and, with the aid of improvisation tools, stimulate each performer’s personal universe,” the creator explained.
Carmen Larraz combines her work as a choreographer for the Dinamo Danza company with her teaching and training activity at Aulaescena and different contemporary dance workshops.
Thierry Martinez. 18/21
The French choreographer Thierry Martínez presents 18/21, an idea inspired by the “diversity of cultures emanating from the group of dancers with their different personalities” he explained, with the purpose of creating a living human piece which expresses the curiosity of the young performers.
Thierry Martínez has a solid background, marked by his time with the company A. M. Porras and Norrdans (Sweden) and the presentation of some of his works at the Le Temps d´Aimer Festival (Biarritz).
As a performer he has danced the creations of R. Horta, S. Petronio, R. Oller, U. Ivgi and R. Zappala, among others.
ATALAK 2.0 is a project driven by Dantzaz together with Donostia Kultura, CCN Malandain-Ballet Biarritz, Tabakalera, Dantzagunea, Azkuna Zentroa and Fundación Baluarte.
