Within the context of digitisation, taking into account all the tools it offers, the aim of the session will be to reflect on the current situation of content in Basque.
A reflection on the current situation of subtitles in Basque / What to do with content in other languages: subtitles or dubbing.
What is the current situation in the Basque Country? References from other countries? How much is subtitled? How much is produced directly in Basque and how much is dubbed?
We will talk about the space Swedish content has at the Yle Areena in Finland, providing information about the Swedish community. We will explain the linguistic strategies used to satisfy the needs of this community: in addition to explaining how much content is produced in Swedish and what type of content it is, we will explain the treatment given to the content produced in another language to respond to this community.
