Exhibition, Joanna Hogg, Reino Unido, 2013, 104'
D and H, played by Viv Albertine of the punk band The Slits and conceptual artist Liam Gillick, decide to sell the house where they have lived and worked for 18 years. Each will experience the change differently. Performance artist D struggles to cut herself off emotionally from the house, which affects her art and her relationship with H. In the walls, she senses the lasting and peaceful love of the house’s first occupants – a love that they do not have.
This third feature film from Joanna Hogg, a British sensation of recent years, is a fascinating reflection on couples and inhabited spaces.
