Bárbara Sánchez

Barbara Sanchez studies dramatic art, classic and contemporary dance in Seville, extending her formation for different European places with teachers and coreographers Philippe Gaulier, Enrique Pardo, Germana Civera, Julyen Hamillton, Maria Muñoz, Jordi Cortés, Roberto Olivan, Ivo Dimchev, Meg Stuart.

She is employed at London and at Carib as ballerina of streaptease for one year. As ballerina of contemporary dance she has taken part of different Andalusian companies as Manuela Nogales, El Velador or La Cuadra de Sevilla, with which she has realized tours all over the world.

In 2003 she initiates hervpath in solitary as choreographer. She has created and interpreted four alone ones, “A la vuelta de la esquina”, “El jardín de atrás”, ”Plutón no es un planeta”, “Ahuyéntanos este furor [en solitaria]”. Together with Roberto Martínez, they created  “Gala Fantoche”.

In 2011 she directs the laboratory-performance “Ahuyéntanos este furor”. In 2012 she collaborates with the visual artist and performer Abraham Hurtado. In 2013 she directs the piece “La satisfacción del capricho”, produced by the International Festival of Dance of Italic for his inauguration. In 2014 she collaborates with Sofia Asencio/Tomás Aragay (Sociedat Doctor Alonso) in the project “El desenterrador”.

Nowadays she is in process of creation of the piece "Somewhat paler ".
