Los Torreznos are a tool of communication on the social, the political and the most deep-rooted customs. They work from the most direct reality, including the familial, translating issues that form part of the most absolute daily routine into contemporary language.

The meaning of their work is oriented towards searching and expressive experimentation by means of simple forms such as gesture, language and presence. Forms that are in principle accessible to anyone and not only to specialists in the languages of contemporary art. They employ humour and deal with content that reflects routine occurrences, what anyone could experience. Their work is developed in diverse formats, which can be both face-to-face (performance or action art) and multimedia (video, sound pieces); they also hold training workshops and give talks.
Although Los Torreznos were formed as such in the year 2000, Rafael Lamata and Jaime Vallaure had already realized numerous collaborative works prior to that date. They were founders and active members of the experimental creation group Circo Interior Bruto (CIB) (Gross Domestic Circus) 1999/05 and Zona de Acción Temporal (ZAT) (Temporary Action Zone) 1997/98.
