Bordering the line between documentary and fiction, the Portuguese filmmaker follows Jorge de Sena, who was forced to leave his country. He first emigrated to Brazil, and later to the United States. He never returned to Portugal during a 20-year exile, maintaining during that time an epistolary correspondence with Sophia de Mello Breyner Andersen. These letters are testimony to the deep friendship between two poets, letters of longing and desire to "fill years of distance with hours of conversation." Thus, through excerpts and verses, a dialogue is established, revealing divergent opinions in the same way as a firm bond, as well as the efforts to preserve it until his last breath. (FILMAFINITY)
