Stiftung Freizeit was founded in Berlin in 2010 by Inés Aubert, Markus Blösl and Rubén Jódar. With their intervention practices they aim to inspire reflection based on this question: How can we implement social innovation through architecture? This formed the basis of the design of the exhibition ‘Afritecture – Bauen mit der Gemeinschaft’ (‘Afritecture – Building with the Community’), which morphed into a forum open to anyone who had something to say and resulted in the empty waiting area of Apolda’s train station becoming a living room thanks to loans from the residents of Apolda.
