This Is Not a Burial, It’s a Resurrection, Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, Southafrica, Italy, USA, Lesoto, 2019, 120’
In a small town in Lesotto, a woman of eighty awaits the return of her son, a South African mine worker. However, a man dies in a labor accident; and in full mourning, the woman will face the system when she learns that the government wants to reestablish the village and build a dam. Lemohang Jeremiah Moses conducts a narrative work near Bacurau and the film of Pedro Costa, which reflects on the concept of progress at the mercy of capitalist power. One of the hidden pearls of the season, seen at the Venice Film Festival and awarded for Sundance 2020.
