Today, terms such as diversity, inclusion and cultural accessibility resonate in both policy and artistic discourses. However, what do they mean in practice? We observe that there are a number of challenges to achieving real diversity and inclusion in cultural public spaces.
The mediation process aims to establish an inclusive and accessible space in Tabakalera for movement arts and vulnerable groups.
I propose this project in coherence with the experimentation processes experienced. We will explore practices that encourage the creation of accessible spaces for coexistence and exchange, without the instrumentalisation of groups and artists, culminating in the analysis of various practical experiences in order to draw reflections and conclusions through a participatory and contrasting process. Coexistence is learned through practice, and for this I consider it crucial to create common spaces and crossroads that encourage this interaction. The purpose is to guarantee permeable and flexible scenarios that can accommodate the diverse realities of the territory, thus promoting inclusion and diversity in the cultural offer.
