OKELA Sormen Lantegia is a space for artistic creation, research, experimentation and diffusion located in San Francisco Street in Bilbao. It was set up by three visual artists: Nora Aurrekoetxea, Izaro Ieregi and Irati Urrestarazu Zubizarreta.

It is a former butcher’s shop converted into a space for creation and still conserves its former identity, from which its name derives.

It is also a critical, constructive, feminist and Basque-speaking space, which revolves around the plastic and visual arts.

OKELA focuses on local contemporary art. It was formed with the main goal of creating networks amongst artists and providing coexistence and relationships between the different agents of the artistic field and the citizens.
