Ikusmira Berriak, the programme of residencies and audiovisual project development, organised by the San Sebastian Festival, Tabakalera-International Centre for Contemporary Culture and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola (EQZE), opens today the call for submissions for its tenth edition. The registration deadline for the audiovisual project development programme is September 1.
Ikusmira Berriak 2024
The Ikusmira Berria residency programme for the development of audiovisual projects counts with a development grant of 5,000 euros.
The first part of the residency will run from March to April 2024. For six weeks, the residents will work on the development of their projects and their agenda will include different tutorials and master classes.
The second part, in September, coinciding with the Festival dates, the filmmakers will return to San Sebastian to complete the last weeks of the residency, bringing their projects at a more developed stage to share them with the film industry. During this stage, a pitching session will be organised at which they will present their projects with a view to organising meetings with some of the more than 1,500 industry professionals present at the Festival.
Location of residency
The residency takes place on the Tabakalera premises in Donostia / San Sebastián. In addition to the cultural project, the Tabakalera building shall also house the headquarters of the Basque Film Archive, the San Sebastián Film Festival, the Etxepare Basque Institute, the Kutxa Foundation and Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola.

- Education: A range of masterclasses will be organised depending on the projects that have been selected.
- Creative advisors: Members of the Experts Committee will provide advice on each project and will guide and supervise participants through its development.
- The programme will cover the travel expenses, meals and accommodation
- Each project will receive a development grant of 5,000 euros, which will be delivered in May, halfway through the two residency periods, in order that the filmmakers may better administer their resources and get the most out of the experience.
