After the coup d'état in Uruguay in 1973, many intellectuals and artists fled the country, including the filmmaker's father, who left in haste for Europe. After his death Laura found some Super 8 films and audio cassettes that he recorded over the years.

Through this archive, Laura begins to construct a new family history, trying to reveal and understand the silent pain of exile, the frustrated political ideals and the iron will to ‘be family’ despite the estrangement.
