Pasaportes para Siria

In the beginning, we were Portabebés para Siria (Baby Carriers for Syria). 

Portabebés para Siria started in San Sebastián on February 23rd 2016, inspired by the Carry the future initiative (www.carrythefuture.org).

The aim: to gather disused baby carriers and send them to victims of the war in Syria, in collaboration with the Asociación de Apoyo al Pueblo Sirio (Support Association for the Syrian People, www.aaps.es).
A baby carrier is more than a physical and practical object. Each baby carrier is much more than a piece of fabric: it carries an important part of our lives, our growing children in their early childhood. It’s a message of support and solidarity from mother to mother that bridges the gap between us.

We launched the campaign with six collection points in San Sebastián and the response from local people went beyond all our expectations. We concluded the campaign after gathering around 3,000 baby carriers.

So, what next?

Now we're Pasaportes para Siria (Passports for Syria).

We want everyone to be able to move freely, safely and with dignity, along all paths and through all countries across the world. We want people to find refuge against brutality when they need it, now and in the future, just as others found it in the past.
