Rachid Farhan was born on 17 August 1989 in Zagora, in south-eastern Morocco. After his secondary education in Modern Literature, in 2011 he received a degree in French Language and Literature and later, in 2013, a master's degree in Teaching Cultural Mediation in Art and Science at the Faculty of Education and Science of the Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco. After completing his master's, he collaborated during three years with the organisation of many cultural and artistic events in Morocco, particularly in the city of Rabat. During this period, and in parallel to his cultural activities, Rachid Farhan joined the queer and feminist struggle. Thanks to this experience, he has been able to acquire a deeper knowledge of gender issues and as a result, to better understand and analyse relationships of power, inequalities and oppression. For more than three years, he has been working on masculinities with the Quartiers du Monde association, where he has prepared dynamic workshops to identify stereotypes, gender roles and to reflect on inequalities and power relationships.
