Rester vertical, Alain Guiraudie, France, 2016, 100’, OV with Spanish subtitles (May 13), OV with Basque subtitles (May 20), DCP.
The new film by the director of L'Inconnu du lac, 2013. Leo is a film director, experiencing writer’s block with his new screenplay, as he makes his way across the south of France. During one of those excursions, he meets Marie and the two begin a relationship. Nine months later, they have a child, but Marie, then going through a depression, runs away. What follows is pure Guiraudie: Leo facing up to himself and his new situation, characters looking characters straight in the eye, disconcerting finger-pointing that turns an innocent rural film into something else, and a reflection on the act of creation and the search for a reason to carry on creating and living.
Esta es la nueva película del director de El desconocido del lago (L'Inconnu du lac, 2013).
