The main focus of Hodoscek’s practice is exploring different concepts of learning and modes of producing knowledge. She observes different social groups within learning environments, or she creates situations where a certain type of learning takes place. She is most interested in the notion of the tacit; a knowledge hidden, however deeply embedded in the practice of everyday life. In her work she is looking into moments and situations where the tacit becomes visible. During the residency, Hodoscek will develop a project that looks into the material traces of emotional labor. She will create an experiment for the camera in collaboration with the actors in order to see if it is possible to visualize the psychological processes embedded in the performativity of the self.
See Me is a film where an actor is commissioned to perform in front of the camera for several hours, without a script, plot or any other guideline. How does this mere presence of the camera eye affect his behavior and what attitudes emerge from the pressure to perform?
