Project and group leadership aimed at women creators:
• How many times have you been paid less than you should?
• How many times have you worked hard just so someone else could take credit?
• How many times have you felt like an octopus doing a million things at once?
• How many times have you kept quiet because you’ve been taught to avoid conflict?
We want to learn how to free ourselves with Mariana. We want to activate key strategies and methods to improve our professional careers and personal lives.
Who is it aimed at?
Although the workshop’s name may seem aimed at women who lead groups, we expressed to Mariana that our (H)emen association has members from different professional performing arts and audiovisual backgrounds, and she assured us that the workshop will be of great value to each and every one of you. We held this workshop last year in Bilbao, and everyone in attendance thoroughly enjoyed it. Back by popular demand from those of you who couldn’t attend, this year we will hold the event in San Sebastian. Workshop exclusively for women.
Mariana G. Roberts
Actress and activist since the age of 13. I have spent more than 20 years creating entrepreneurship and learning spaces for creators.
At 26, I was Deputy Artistic Director of the Comedia de la Provincia de Buenos Aires and tried to appear older to manage an administrative team of 10 and technical team of 96. At 27, I was awarded one of the 13 Inter-American Development Bank grants for a project from the National Theatre Research Festival... and I was scared to death. With passion and often tears, I created and ran two theatre companies and managed international tour productions. I created and directed a theatre school for 10 years. I created and directed the International Woman Creator Festival (La Otra Mirada), and had the opportunity to meet artists on three continents. I worked and enjoyed the Ibero-American Performing Arts Women’s Meeting for Cádiz's Ibero-American Theatre Festival (FIT) for 18 years, five of which as Director. There, I had the pleasure of directing the Performing Arts Class at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide for 9 years.
What satisfied me most about that experience was helping other female creators move with more fluidity, efficacy, and speed.
It is clear to me that the world of culture needs our vision, and I am committed to accelerating this process.
What will we work on?
In this workshop, we will work quite practically for four hours.
You will be able to lay the foundations to define your impact style and strengthen your inner confidence so that your impact involves less wear. You will also learn how to manage the principle personal and professional fears around your work and clear up doubts on team leadership.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to improve your leadership skills and enhance your influence on the world of creation.
FREE for (H)emen members and Tabakalera visual creatives.
Mariana would like to ask those of you interested in attending the programme a series of questions to adapt her content accordingly. For this reason, we ask that you fill out this brief questionnaire she has prepared.
