Sergio Oksman

Sergio Oksman (São Paulo, 1970) studied journalism in Brazil and cinema in New York. Since 1999 he has lived and worked in Madrid, where he has directed six documentaries on the orders of producer Elías Querejeta and founded the production company Dok Films, with which he signs his work for film and television. His films, including shorts and feature films, have been seen at more than two hundred festivals (Sundance, San Sebastian, Viennale, Locarno...) and have received numerous international awards, including Best Film in Warsaw, Karlovy Vary, New Orleans, Vila do Conde or the Goya for best documentary short.

He currently coordinates the Documentary Workshop of the Film School of Madrid (ECAM).
