The year is coming to an end so we will review the best Spanish shorts presented in international film festivals. They contain diversity, risk, experimentation, courage, humour and a lot of freedom, everything that the genre allows and we in Tabakalera consider “important”, despite the lack of minutes.
Neither do we separate fiction and documentary in our programme, as we consider that the important thing is always the cinema and its language. The short should have a natural place among our other titles during the year. We try to do this, both through screenings throughout the year and, for example, by paying specific attention to the short format in February each year with the screening of the films from Labo-Clermont Ferrand.
We are now summarising the year and have selected 7 films that show the good health of Spanish short films on the international scene. From the Golden Palm in Cannes for the best documentary short to a small but very prestigious festival such as Vila do Conde. Pure cinema, short films, pure cinema.
