Silvia Zayas (León, 1978). Silvia Zayas works at the limits of the performing arts, video and expanded choreography. She is currently investigating ways to transfer documentary film language to different performative devices. She has a PhD in performing arts and cinematography from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Her pieces include São Tomé Revisitado (2012) (MUSAC Artistic Creation Grant) and Parallax (2016), a scenic piece for light and sound, produced with the assistance of the "Artists in residence" programme of CA2M and La Casa Encendida. She has worked in collaboration with different artists and groups, including Declinación Magnética, El Desenterrador de Sofía Asencio, María Jerez, Alejandra Pombo, Esperanza Collado, and Chus Domínguez and Nilo Gallego in the exhibition project Laboratorio 987 (2012-2013), MUSAC. She is currently continuing her work in the artistic investigation project Jumping scales (Matadero-Madrid).
