This is the story of what happens to a woman when asked whether she is pregnant. She doesn’t know, and in the moment it’s better to leave some room for doubt. For her husband, who was planning to leave her, this is an awkward hypothesis... So awkward that he believes it right away. He may well tell her he doesn’t want the child, but she doesn’t arrange an abortion... since she isn’t pregnant after all. But she doesn’t come to share that particular part with him. She lets things go, always putting it off until tomorrow, avoiding having to break the spell that keeps her husband close, comforts her own sick father, and delights those in her circle. Day after day, the fictional story takes root, and nothing seems able to stop it.
