The opening of the exhibition will take place on April 5th at 7pm and will be attended by both Esther Ferrer and Laurence Rassel, who, on the following day, April 6th at 10am, will hold a breakfast-talk about Ferrer’s work. This meeting will take place in the new exhibition hall of Tabakalera (1st Floor).
The exhibition entitled Esther Ferrer. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23…, in reference to the artist’s work based on the prime numbers, has been curated by Laurence Rassel and Mar Villaespesa.
The show treats the exhibition area as a place for exercises, actions and thought, through which run processes, essays, sketches and models, while at the same time offering an invitation to count, to hear and to feel the materiality of sound, to experiment and to experience the body in motion following different combinatorial possibilities.
It is an exhibition that contemplates the body, live on stage, as well as having a more abstract side involving pieces that make reference to mathematics, numbers, and language. The visitor's participation is essential to the activation of the artist's pieces. On this occasion, we are interested in questioning the exhibition space and establishing another type of relationship between the work and the visitor; that is to say, the public is invited to take an active role and interact with the artist's work.
