Susana Talayero (Bilbao, 1961). After graduating in Fine Arts at the UPV/EHU, she moved to Rome where she lived from 1986 to 1995. This city and the artistic context of the time have had an influence on her practice, which is shaped around painting.

In her current practice she explores the relationship between painting and space through large-format accumulative assemblages made with fabrics and plastic sheets, where an apology for the material, the hybrid and the corporeal is manifested.

Her recent exhibitions include: El oscuro en su interior, CarrerasMugica, Bilbao (2019);Relatos de entrenamiento CAB, Burgos (2018); Una certa organizzazione delle cose, AOC F58, Rome (2017) and Crónica inquieta 1986-2016, Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao (2016). He has participated in Ciencia fricción, AZ Bilbao and CCCB Barcelona and in Zerubat, hamaikabide, Artium Museoa, Vitoria-Gasteiz (2022-2023).

Her work La rosa de nada (2003), is part of the exhibition That Time.
