For the last few years, and particularly since 2019, I have been drawing a great deal. To put it one way, I have been constructing my own way of drawing based on resolve and daily work. Perhaps my way of working is somewhat like those that run three times per week, with growing resolve in which one finds their weaknesses and virtues, and endeavours to bring the best out of themselves. When it comes to making this parallel, sport practised individually like running and swimming come to my mind. The reason for that is perhaps simply that I draw alone. The key would be to find new things in the same exercise every day.
In recent months, I have created large-format drawings, and I am particularly focused on this. In addition to light, colour, and movement in drawing, I am interested in vibrations, the fine lines that make up a structure of weave to produce this special vibration.
My proposal for the Tabakalera residency would therefore be to continue with this work and complete the process. In 2022, I received a production grant from the Basque Government. That allowed me to spend more time in my studio and focus on my art. As such, my proposal is to bring the unfinished work of these past months and create a new one, providing the project with a sort of ending, or bringing the process to a close.
