Where would you locate l’île aux Basques? Should sailing there be considered a form of translation? How would you say “ke” in Mi'kmaq? Is Mi'kmaq really a language? Who is to decide? To what extent can these questions modify our ways of thinking and acting?

The poetics of literary texts written simultaneously in different tongues (but what is “a tongue" really?) invites to forge a heterolingual imaginary within which translation is understood as a way to speak as other while using one’s most singular voice – rather than a mere transfer, a transport or even a bridge between two stable and homogeneous entities.

From this new imaginary (or paradigm) I will sketch a few perspectives for an indisciplinary approach that is altogether doing, thinking, and creating. The 4 days seminar held at Tabakalera (4-8th of November 2015) in the framework of the research project Itzultzen ari gara will nourish and transform this on-going reflexion right under your eyes…
