Txaranga Urretabizkaia is a musical group created in 2017 that aims to combine the experimental with the playful based on a grouping of wind instruments common to popular txarangas (saxophones, trumpets, clarinets, etc.). From simple textual instructions, they create scores and choreographies that attempt to adapt to the space and context in which they are going to perform, paying as much attention to the performative and visual aspects as to the sound.
They have played at festivals such as Inmersiones (Vitoria-Gasteiz), Kontenporanea Irun, Zinebi (Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao), 9 Soles (Museo de Navarra, Pamplona), Izar&Star (San Sebastian and Bilbao), Urbanbat and Iturfest (Bilbao) and several Eremuak meetings (Markina, Ea). In 2021 they published the book entitled “Partiturak/s” in which they have compiled the scores composed and performed between 2017 and 2021.
